Behind the method

The trainer

Musician and teacher

Musician, teacher, and convinced that the great musical disciplines are within everyone's reach, provided we rethink the way they are taught.

For years I have taught the very people classical methods tend to leave behind: motivated adults and teenagers who are nonetheless certain they are «not good enough». Intimidated by music theory. Without the time or the desire to go back to music school.

I have worked with a great many of them, and most simply call me Marie. All different, sometimes unconventional, all convinced at the outset that music «wasn't for them».

Spoiler alert: it was for them.

Through those encounters, and by overcoming my own learning difficulties, I built a personal approach. A method grounded in the senses and in feeling: linking a sound to a colour, a gesture, an emotion. Creating mental images so vivid that you hear a piece with your eyes closed.

This is what I call the imaginary senses: the ability to mentally recreate a sound, a sensation, a whole musical scene, like a memory or a daydream. You do not merely understand the theory: you live it. Here you learn by playing. By practising. By getting it wrong, and being corrected at every attempt. The Note Precision apps accompany each module like a permanent mentor: they guide, correct and adapt to your progress. The more often you are corrected, the faster you progress, and that is the heart of the approach.

A platform born of a simple observation: too many gifted students underestimate themselves. Not for lack of talent, but because methods ignore the way their brain learns.

It was time for that to change.
